“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” -Mark 10:14
Our children face many social influences today. Our goal is to give our children a variety of nurturing experiences during the year which are led by caring, faithful adults. Teaching children about God and His love is not only a parent’s responsibility, but our responsibility as their church family. Our congregation is dedicated to making disciples of Jesus Christ and showing God’s love to them starting from infant to adulthood and setting strong faith examples for our children. They are the future of our church and together parents and our congregation will make a difference in their lives.
Infants are a treasured gift from God. Our Nursery is a place for infants to toddlers and a place where they learn the love of their church family and a love of God.
For toddlers and young children who prefer to remain with their parents during worship, we provide “Bible Bags”. These bags are filled with items for quiet play to keep your child occupied during the service.
Children 4 years old to 3rd grade are released for Children’s Church at both our 5:30 p.m. Saturday worship service and the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. They leave with an adult who spends time with them reading stories and doing crafts with the children.
Children’s J.A.M. Time (Jesus and Me)
Children’s J.A.M Time meets upstairs in our children’s rooms at 9:00 a.m. Children are separated for age appropriate lessons. We have a pre-K-2nd grade class and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class. All J.A.M. Time classes are held at the same time as their parent’s classes.
Children’s Music Opportunities
We offer handbells for two age groups at our church. “The Ding Dongs” is for our younger children and “The Ding-A-Rings” is for children 3rd grade and older. Please click on the links to check the groups out.
Team Kid is for children 3 years old to 5th grade. Team Kid meets every Sunday evening from October through March at 6:00 p.m. Children bring their friends and enjoy games and activities while they learn what it means to be a part of God’s church family.
The children enjoy this time together spending time with their friends. It is a wonderful time for the children to learn how to share, get along with others, the importance of being kind to all, and to trust in Jesus Christ.
Vacation Bible School Reunion
Our Vacation Bible School Reunion is when all the children that attended our summer VBS are invited to come back for an evening of singing the songs they learned at VBS, meet up with friends they made, and learn about the upcoming Vacation Bible School plans for the coming summer. The evening is filled with singing, food and fun!
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is one of the biggest events of the year for our children, their friends and family, and the children of the community. This highlight of the summer includes dinner, songs, dancing, jumping, outdoor activities, crafts, snacks, and most importantly – learning about our Lord, Jesus Christ. We have a wonderful staff and lots of volunteers that make this week a fun-filled time for the children. One of the children’s favorites is when Chadder the chipmunk comes to visit us!
